Biography

Burak Canözer was born on 5 January 1980 in İstanbul. He started to music by playing electric guitar at the age of fourteen. He met classic guitar when he was fifteen. He chose music by putting an end to his basketball career in which he was active with a license throughout his primary and high school years and on the other hand he continued to his education in his high school years, he had numerous concerts with his school group.

The economy faculty of Istanbul University in which he was accepted in 1999 was very useful to make his music career matured. He was the head of a music club in the university for four years and he gave guitar and harmony lessons to about 500 students.

During this period he joined the progressive heavy metal group called Knighterrant professionally at the beginnig of 2000 and he had lots of concerts with this group. He shared the same stage with famous group such as Anathema and Overkill. The most important one among those concerts was absolutely Wacken Open Air which invited and honoured a turkish group first time in the history (02.08.2001) that concert was the first international experience and it was the first for Turkish rock history as a group. They got the thumbs up at that festival which they joined as an opening group. He shared the same stage with known people from all over the world such as Helloween W.A.S.P..

He left the group at the end of 2001 and established a new group called Almora. He took part in four albumes among 2001-2006 and played guitar in numerous concerts. We can show some Pioneer groups on heavy metal such as Dio, Kreator, Opeth, Pain of Salvation and Theiron with whom he shared the same stage.

Graduated from the department of Economy of Istanbul University in 2003, he joined army. He was accepted to Ankara TSK Armoni Mizikasi and spent five fruitful months with respected musicians there. He had 41 concerts with many musicians of good quality who were in the same style with him. That process extended his view to music and effected him in a positive way.

He made an instrumental band called Saklikent with Cag Ercag and Ali Akacca in 2005 to prove to exist not only in rock and metal music but also in the other music styles. That album was very succesful. It was used in documentaries, radio programmes and serials. More over, it was an album which was bought by cultural ministary. He left from the group called Almora at the end of 2006 and started to focus on instrumental music. He contributed to Valstanbul instrumental album which came on to the market in 2007 by giving composition and he played classic guitars in an instrumental album called Saklikent 2 which came on to the market in 2008.

He continued to his music works which he had a break for a short time by establishing a group called Kuvars at the beginnig of 2009. By the January 2010, he made his new instrumantel album called 'UFKA DOGRU' (TO THE HORIZON).
